Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, in his message published on the occasion of the August 1st Social Resistance Day, pointed out that the current mentality of the Greek Cypriot leadership prevents the establishment of a federal partnership based on sharing in Cyprus and emphasized that a sustainable agreement in Cyprus is based on equal sovereignty.
Pointing out that while the fact that the Greek Cypriot Leadership does not want to share the administration and wealth with the Turkish Cypriot People is obvious, the fighting spirit that created the legend of the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT) in the past is still needed to protect the equality and sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus and to strengthen the TRNC, Ahmet Savaşan underlined that the Greek Cypriot side's desire to return to the current UN parameters is nothing but an effort to maintain the status quo on the island.
TATAR AND SANER'S STANCE IS A GAME CHANGER...
Ahmet Savaşan pointed out that the proactive policy of the government under the prime ministership of Ersan Saner, who is at work, especially President Ersin Tatar, on both Varosha and the Cyprus problem, is a game changer and expressed his belief that a new era will begin on the island thanks to this vision.
WE OWE OUR SURVIVAL TO TMT, TURKISH SOLDIERS AND MUJAHIDEEN...
Ahmet Savaşan underlined that if the Turkish people live in security in Cyprus today, they owe this to the honorable struggle of their ancestors, the Turkish Resistance Organization and Turkey, and emphasized that “the Turkish Cypriot people gained their state after a glorious resistance that started with the conquest of Cyprus by the Ottomans, lasted for years with the sprouting of the TMT and was crowned with the establishment of the Security Forces Command”.
A REALISTIC EFFORT IS NEEDED TO STRENGTHEN THE STATE...
Pointing out that August 1 is the day when the Turkish Cypriot People, as an equal sovereign people, will shout to the world that they will not compromise on their free and honorable life, the effective and de facto guarantee of Turkey and the presence of Turkish soldiers on the island, Ahmet Savaşan underlined that a realistic effort should be made to strengthen the state internally and externally.

Pointing out that the heroes who fought with honor from the past to the present, especially Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the leader of the Social Existence Struggle, Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş and the founders of the TMT, will never be forgotten, Ahmet Savaşan said, “We remember with mercy our nameless heroes who served in our TMT with great sacrifices and quietly passed away, and we greet the living TMT members with our sincerest love and respect. In addition, we congratulate the Social Resistance Day by expressing our gratitude to the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces and Security Forces Commands and their heroic members, which ensure that we live in peace and security in our homeland.”.
